Re-Differentiated Human Chondrocytes
 (RD-HC)
Chondrocytes in monolayer culture lose their phenotypic characteristics very quickly and became de-differentiated to fibroblast-like phenotype1,2,3. Cartilage-specific Type II Collagen expression cannot be detected in these de-differentiated chondrocytes4. Now we provide Re-Differentiated chondrocytes by encapsulating chondrocytes in alginate bead suspension. These Re-Differentiated chondrocytes produce their phenotypic marker aggrecan and Type II Collagen again14,5.  Cells are shipped 10 days after encapsulation and Re-Differentiated choncdocytes are expected 3 weeks after encapsulation and should remain the phenotypic characteristics for at least one weeks after complete re-differentiation. These cells have been used for the repair of cartilage defects6.

Each lot is tested negative for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi.
